During 2023, the abbey put in place a number of systems to facilitate access for all types of disability. The Abbey’s trained team will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Access is easy from the parking lot to the reception area, with a dedicated parking space and a gentle slope to the reception area. A bell is available if you have difficulty entering the building, and there is a specially equipped counter inside the reception area. The abbey is partially accessible to people with motor disabilities. The team is at your disposal to install an access ramp for rooms with a step on the first floor. A virtual tour of the second floor is currently underway: with the aid of a 3D helmet, you will also be able to see the dormitories and their 16th-17th century paintings. The site also has disabled WCs at reception.

A 3D model is available in the abbey cellar. It enables visitors to touch the volume of the abbey, the existing buildings and the hypothesis of restitution thanks to a difference in texture.

An adapted sensory tour is also available, by reservation on 05 46 82 34 25 or at contact@abbayedetrizay17.fr.

Trizay Abbey’s reception area is equipped with an audio induction loop, enabling people with hearing aids to hear clearly, without any interfering noise. A film with subtitles shows a 3D reconstruction of the abbey.
There is also a written guide o the abbey available in : French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch
